CANCELLATION OF THE 64TH EDITION OF GSTAAD MENUHIN FESTIVAL & ACADEMY - "VIENNA

For the first time in the 64-year history of the festival, the festival is forced to cancel all concerts, academies and events planned by Gstaad MenuhinFestival & Academy for the coming summer. A heavy blow for the hotel industry and the local trade. We have decided to keep all Menuhin offers open anyway. We cannot bring ourselves to delete all Menuhin offers. Depending on the situation, we at the Bernerhof are planning one or more small events on our Alp Züneweid. Maybe even in the St. Niklaus Chapel in the centre of Gstaad, combined with a meal in our new restaurant "Esprit Ravet". As soon as we have clarity for August & September, we will post the offers here.

We are already looking forward to welcoming you next year to the 65th (!) Menuhin Festival.

2020 marks Beethoven's 250th birthday. The Menuhin Festival 2020 will celebrate the golden age of Viennese classical music with Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert. The Biedermeier era is also an important topic of the Festival, as the beginnings of such important institutions as the Vienna Musikverein, the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and of well-known musical giants of the late 19th century such as Bruckner, Brahms, and Mahler. They are the reason Vienna is still considered a cultural center of music to this day.
